Our founder
Annie Maples, a passionate advocate for providing quality electronic components, began her journey in the electronic components distribution industry at the tender age of 16. She was the first employee of an electromechanical components distributor on Long Island, New York, where she learned the value of hard work and the importance of each component in the vast puzzle of electronics and electromechanics.
After studying communications at New York University and languages in Florence, Italy, Annie graduated with a BA degree in languages from NYU in 1999. A yearning for adventure led her to Rome, where she initially worked as an ESL teacher among other jobs. However, the idea of building her own company and life in Italy led her, at the age of 24, to open the European branch of a long-standing electronics distributor in New York. The distributor closed down its office on Long Island and Annie decided to buy the branch office she had opened in Italy, now PC Components Europe.
In 2001, with no sales experience but business a strong determination, Annie began making cold calls to potential customers from her home. Her efforts were rewarded with a growing customer database, many of whom continue to trust PC Components Europe (PCE) today. In 2002, she hired a salesperson dedicated to the French market, marking the start of PCE’s expansion. It’s noteworthy that this successful hire, Sylvie, continues to be a valuable part of PCE to this day.
Despite facing personal health challenges and embracing motherhood in 2007 and 2009, Annie remained steadfast in her commitment to her business. These experiences underscored the importance of resilience, persistence, and discipline, values she has instilled in PCE. Today, PCE stands as more than a distributor of components and is committed to offering the best prices and sourcing the required components to the customers in the most efficient manner possible.
